Jonathan Butler has seen and endured a lot. He overcame a life of drugs, self-destruction, and poverty though spiritual intervention and purpose. The superstar’s music has crossed multiple genre’s from urban, pop, jazz, contemporary, and gospel. He launched the Jonathan Butler Foudation to fund music education programs to give hope and purpose to children like himself. His foundation’s operates with the mission statement, “Purpose Kills Addiction.” I love that mission statement. Why do you get up every day? To reach for a drink or get high? If that’s your only purpose in life you will find a way to accomplish it. Find a new purpose, one focused on others, let it fill your heart, and you will find yourself on the road to recovery.
