In late 1997 American comedian Chris Farley died as the result of a drug overdose. His role as a motivational speaker on a SNL skit was truly hilarious. Hired by parents to inspire their children to seek excellence and stay away from drugs Farley’s character highlighted the negative outcomes of drug use, including “living in a van down by the river.”
Addiction has devasting financial implications on not only the addict but also their family. For some addicts the losses are so great that they would consider living in a van down by the river a step up from their current environment. Say no to the negative influences in your life. Say No to living in the van. Stay Strong, Get Help, and Just Say No!
