Recovery doesn’t happen overnight. Recovery is a lifelong journey, not an immediate destination. If you decided to take an extended trip you would plan it out. You would find a map, arrange transportation, secure food and lodging, and finalize your departure date. And no matter how much you tried to plan things out problems would occur during this journey. I’m sure thinking about doing anything for the rest of your life can seem overwhelming at first. But consider this, saving $5 a day doesn’t seem like much at first. But over 40 years, earning an average return that amount is worth over $500,000. The same theory can be applied to recovery. It may be a day by day and sometimes even a minute by minute battle, but the rewards are truly astonishing over a lifetime. You can do it. Stay Strong, Get Help, and Just Say No!
